Simballrec is proud to announce the debut release of Laurita, the project of musician Laura Shumate. This self-titled EP will be available on Bandcamp and all streaming platforms on February 17, 2023.

Composed over the span of a year, this collection of tracks relies mostly on modular synthesizers as the main source of instrumentation. The music ranges from experimental to ambient with layers upon layers that can be discovered with every new listen.

“The EP is a collection of modular-sourced pieces, drawing on the play of reacting to the unexpected responses of a system of machines. I try to find the aesthetic space in the sounds for me - like a live performance deep listening - merging the reactions of the modulars' with mine. You can also call it fucking with cybernetics, but that’s just using big words.” Laurita
