Tropicane. A 20:00+ multi-tone drone. Recorded late night and shortly after online radio station dublab moved into its new location – a 1930s DWP power distribution station located in Los Angeles’ University Park. No broadcast studios or anything built yet, The Middle Ages (Alejandro Cohen and Laura Shumate) set up two room mics in the empty industrial concrete building, with Ale and his Radel Tabla/Tanpura and Laura with her Thinline and EBow.

Usually sharing b2b sets, The Middle Ages’ also share an appreciation for sound manipulation and general weird shit too. It is this that lays the foundation for their next musical offering.

Recorded in the dark in 2021… Please enjoy.
